I recently acquired a Cogswell & Harrison Avant Tout side-plated gun with assisted opening. The article above was helpful in understanding what is going on mechanically when I shift the toplever and the gun pops open. I also understand the wrist breaker reference...Geo

So many types! I had no idea. Does wrist breaker refer to difficulty of closing these guns?

Cool article. If I was to know that you were going to use my Lancaster pics for it.....I wouldve sent you much better pics.:-).
The Coggie AT action is hardly a self opener action. Using ejector springs to simply provide constant pressure on the face of the action isnt that great of a system. Its more in the realm of assisted opening and it doesnt even do a good job at that. Super interesting design and concept though. For some reason, even though Ive been wallet bitten by Coggie ATs in the past....I still like em.

On past posts by Robertovich I was able to copy his website address, paste it into Google Translate and then use the result as an address for the articles in English. Today that does not seem to work on this post nor on his past posts.
How are you gentlemen finding his article in English ?
