I love unique variations... woodducks, rails and a schooner? Sure beats the pants off 2 dimensional quail and little triangular birds

Very nice early gun. A single pin in plate but it looks to be engraved, not etched. I really like Bakers.

Very nice, the birds are very good, not like the cartoonish character of some engraving of the period.

Hard to say without having it in hand. The scroll definitely looks engraved to me. The birds & sailboat, etc may, or may not, be etched.
I believe that Baker developed etching to a pretty fine art.

Either way, I like it.

Very attractive composition and execution. Clearly engraved. The graver facets are visible in the picture.

Very classic, but not quite up to par with flying turnips!

It's an early 1 pin Paragon.
Here's another with the neat border treatment

A 3 pin

the border got more simple over time

an early 1 pin A. The border looks engraved but the duckie looks etched

early 1 pin etched B

Jason, Drew and all. Very nice pictures of Frank Mason engraving. Hard to believe that the A and B grades shown were Bakers lowest grades at the time.
