There have been posts about this process, but I don't recall anyone describing just how he steams the area being re-blued. I assume an old-fashioned tea kettle would work, but perhaps someone has a better device.

I've used a stainless steel kitchen container (not sure what they're called but it's a bread bin over in Blighty) with a hole in the lid to let a jet of steam out . It worked but as I have tanks and burners it wasn't much more trouble to boil the whole barrel set.

Billy, I would advise making some small applicator pads for your rusting solution out of strips cut from your anti-Trump "It's Mueller Time!" tee shirt. A good, but very agressive rusting solution is Rachael Maddow's or Chris Matthews' tears diluted 50:1 with distilled water. Then use the remainder of your anti-Trump "It's Mueller Time" tee shirt and Hillary Clinton yard signs as kindling for a wood fire to generate steam in your tea kettle to convert the rust. Does your rust bluing job need touched up due to you shedding tears on the gun after Robert Mueller found no collusion with Russians by our pro-gun President Trump, and no cause for the indictments and impeachment you were hoping for? A heavy coat of RIG may prevent this.
A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

Keith, having received your college degree from Trump University, you need to renew your subscription to The National Enquirer in order to maintain the level of your achievement. PS: Mueller didn't rule out obstruction of justice, but hey, what's not to like about a president who narrowly escapes a charge of collusion with an enemy nation?

Come on Bill...."narrowly escapes"??? 675 Days 40 FBI Agents 19 Lawyers 500 Search Warrants 2800 Subpoenas 500 Witnesses That's not "narrowly escaping". No stone was left un-turned in trying to find evidence against Trump. And you still can't acknowledge that. It's no wonder there is a problem when the reaction to the Mueller Report, a well funded and thorough witch hunt if ever there was one, is to continually claim that Trump just hasn't been caught yet. It defies belief. You ask here for reasonableness yet can't exhibit it yourself.

CB, It's hardly as if the Mueller investigation accomplished nothing. Count up the number of Trump enablers arrested, charged, and convicted. That's an awful lot of smoke to not indicate some fire. Of course folks who watch Fox News with a straight face take all the comfort it offers. I accept that Mueller found insufficient evidence to charge Trump with collusion. That in no way shows Trump to be anything but the con man he has always been. He is a man without any redeeming features. And, there's still the prospect of obstruction, but don't let that tarnish your admiration.

Bill, you would have to agree the mandate of the Mueller investigation was to determine if Trump colluded with the Russians to win the election. The suggestion being that had he done that, it would indicate the likelihood of further collusion between the Russians and Trump once he became president.
And yet after all this time, the Mueller investigation turned up nothing on this. No collusion by Trump with Russians. They snagged some other people for things other than collusion with Russians but the point of the exercise failed. They could find no evidence.
What more would you like? Really?
Trump may not be a very nice guy. He may hold political views other than the ones you hold. But the Democratic witch hunt has concluded he did not collude with the Russians.
Should I accuse Hillary of engaging in baby sacrifice and then hold to that accusation when there is not a shred of evidence?? I mean seriously.....
As far as the other stuff goes.....would you not agree that anytime there is a special prosecutor type investigation of Washington goings-on, that people get caught doing things they shouldn't? No matter what party or administration they are part of? Don't we all recognize that there are always some shady things and people in Washington?
Finally, I'm trying to be reasonable and deal in the facts. Does this conversation really need "but don't let that tarnish your admiration."

Yes, I like to deal in facts. That so very many Trump hires and appointments turn out to be either crooked or incompetent or both makes me unwilling to trust his administrative skills. The turnover rate in his tenure shows that he has no idea how to head the government. That he did not collude with Putin doesn't raise his standard; it may turn out to be the high water mark of his entire career.

I wasn't speaking of Trump's administrative skills, or his competence. Neither were subjects of the Mueller investigation. His staff turnover rate wasn't, nor was his skill as head of government.
And neither were you when you described him as narrowly escaping a charge of collusion with the Russians.
Can it be possible for you to just admit, as Mueller has, that there is no evidence anywhere that Trump colluded with the Russians to win the election. Can we put THAT piece of bullshit behind us now?
