If you decide to pass on it... let me know! I'd love to have another Atkin in 20 gauge.

The Atkin, Grant, & Lang book by Don Masters does not list a serial #5371 in the Atkin numbers. The Atkin numbers went up to about 3592 (1961) and then jumped to the 20,000 series. Can you post a pic?

We could use a picture of the barrel flats to tell you more, but already we can see that it is a very modest gun, and likely not in the best condition. Modest British boxlock fixer uppers are a sinkhole for money.

I believe that the gun is fairly 'original' and probably made in the early 50's. Some Atkin boxlocks had chopper lump barrels and all his guns were pretty nice.
I own Atkin #300X - made in 1930. Atkin, Grnt and Lang is now owned by Francis Lovell and are making guns to order. If you google Francis Lovell in the UK, you will find his dealership. Google Atkin, Grant & Lang for contact info at AG&L. they were very helpful in providing info for me.
