Last year I came across several sections of 10 heating duct. Made wood duck nesting boxes out of it by cutting a 16 section, cutting the top at a 30 degree slope to shed water. Cut a hole in the front so ducks could get in, installed a plywood floor and plywood roof and attached them to metal fence post I had. Filled with shavings. Placed them along several prime nesting spots on land I owned. Best friend helped. He called me to inform me all but two of the boxes have been stolen. Who steals nesting boxes?

People will steal anything that is not bolted down. And even a lot of stuff that is.

The best hope in a case like this, is that the nesting box is just somewhere else & still serving its intended purpose. O.M

Put trail cameras on the others. It's worth spending 10X the value of the boxes just to catch them and prosecute their sorry -----.

Yup, maybe it's time to put out a few tempt boxes that attract scumbags just to put a cam on them, and a cam or two where they're likely to park their vehicle. It's not just about the boxes, these are trespassers who're already up to no good and didn't just wander off course and eased back out when they realized what happened.

Given your item description I'll go out on a limb and guess.... I figure it was someone that didn't like seeing the trash you called nesting boxes in the woods ? Ky....I wasn't aware that wood ducks would nest in steel pipes ?
