It's very advanced design with: cocking indicators, intercepting sear safety, reinforced action and beautifully fitted square bolt. What you have there is genuine Ft. Knox of guns. Gee, they should have mounted .450/400 or .500NE rifled tubes on that frame. I'm getting old, so I will stick with something very simple that works A.H.Fox.
I'm just a bright eyed old fart looking toward receiving my first letter from Monsieur Callahan.

Hals painted few pictures as well.
Each a masterpiece but in descending order of quality.
To each his own as to what one collects/shoots. I prefer masterworks when I can afford them.

I would also be happy to ressurect "the old girl", as SKB noted-if you could pass, please contact me too. I have a 16 of the same era and it could use a big sister.

I still waiting to hear why the practical restoration I proposed above ;well, "isn't practical". As far as I can see it puts a well made old double back into shooting condition for a minimal expense! If some one has a better solution I'd like to hear it.

Husqvarna buttplate seems odd, wonder if it was imported from Sweden

AHHHHHHHHHH !! The butt plate solution.
Perhaps this gun is more a mystery than we had noted.
I would like to see a better pic of the rib engraving. I have often thought that Lindner sent guns to places other than Daly. We know of the one German one. The grade seems to eliminate a business man or diplomat's having bought it in N.Y. and then taken it back to Sweden. Maybe not.
Perhaps the seller has some notion of its history.
Jim: I agree and if the poster does not wish to try, I am sitting on ready to do so. If not too costly, this might make a great shooter (gift)for some young person as an introductory gun to our world.

There are tiers of other guns that you could say that about.
Both Fox and Lindner, would only be at the top of the third.
Quality wise and marketplace dollars.

This gun is in a shop where they are pretty excited about it and think its worth 2500.00 or so. I stop there about every 2 or 3 weeks to see what they have. I'll take another look at it next stop. The stock seemed tight but there are significant gaps around the top tang. Neat old gun though.

My level of excitement has waned by about $ 1700.00.............This gun will need~ $3200 of attention to restore correctly.
