I've got my granddad's binoculars that are in pretty rough condition. They have long barrels and are at least 60 mm. aperture. His sextant is in good shape He was USNR WWI and WWII as a line officer and was promoted to Captain during the last war. Between the wars he was a sea captain. He used them throughout his career.

A member recommended an optics wizard in Montana when I was looking for someone to restore my 6-power Watson-Bakers from weeks in salt water. They were my first big purchase as a reporter about 1950, at a good price because of a pound devaluation. The Montana man returned them with new leather, looking as good as the day I bought them, at very reasonable price. Small and light, they're perfect in the blind. I can't remember the person's name. He may have been a Scout leader.
