Fellows, I have recently acquired a 20 gauge Churchill in the S/N 18xx range,and after emailing Churchill, they inform me there are no records for their early guns such as this one. Anyone have a pre WW 1 catalog for E.J.Churchill, by chance?Thanks, Sandlapper

As soon as I can get time to take a picture of it, I will. What exactly are you looking for?I know it is nitro proofed for 2 1/2" shells and bores are .616 and .617,but nothing else. Thanks, Marcus

From Masters book, "House of Churchill"; 1910- 1,742 1911- 1,851 1912- 1,893 That should cover your dating from your s/n 18xx. I have a hardcover catalog from Churchill that has been updated (1922 price list insert) that, from the cover note, was printed "... Several years earlier...". Let me know if you want something looked up.

I would like to post pics of this Churchill; can anyone walk me through the process, please? By the way, this gun is unusual in that has 26" barrels with zero choke in either barrel. I will have to get 2.5" shells for it,and decided to try the Caledonians that were recommended to me on this site. Can anyone tell me how the 3/4 oz. 20 ga. 2.5" load performs?

Marcus;
Is your 20 bore EJ Churchill a sidelock or an A&D boxlock gun?

Roalco, I think, after looking at the Churchill book, that this is a Hercules grade, as it has the EJC monogram on the bottom of the receiver,full coverage tiny scroll, and third bite, with Southgate ejectors, cased in a brass cornered heavy case with early paper Churchill label and all the accessories. it has no grade markings, but the book says that only Churchill's best guns had the EJC monogram engraved on them. What does your catalog say about the Hercules grade? Thanks, Marcus
