I am interested in the production of Vickers and Vickers Armstrong sporting guns made between the wars from 1920 to 1940.

I keep a data base of serial numbers and am keen to expand this. All contributions will be kept anonymous.

I am interested in center fire bolt action rifles with 4 digit numbers - Vickers seems to start serialization at 1001 as these are likely to be made by Vickers or made for them to their specification.

All I need is a brief description including caliber, type of action, Mauser,Mannlicher etc and the serial number.
If you would prefer to contact me by e-mail it is:

Many thanks.

Just a note that this survey for Vickers and Vickers Armstrong centre fire bolt action sporting rifles is still ongoing.

I have very few examples of these rifles in my data base unfortunately, so if you have an example I would be pleased to hear from you.

No rifles, but I have a 1930 Henry Atkin Lightweight 'Spring Opener' with Vickers steel barrels.

Interesting, thank you. I have heard Vicker's supplied barrel tubes to Gibbs.

Reaching out to the larger US and Uk auctioneers ‘might’ help if you can speak to the right person, to query their databases of guns handled over the past years. Couple clicks and I’m sure they’d know if they’d catalogued those pertinent. Good luck!
