That is the definition of guage.
More precise measurement of the head and rim diameters are necessary, than is possible with a scale. The chambercast, itself, shows more of a necked case, than was visible on the photo of the chamber. Also, the rim recess seems deeper than if it were for an LK or "Drilling" case. Subject to better measurements, it may be based on the 43 Mauser case after all. It will be necessary to measure diameters with either a micrometer or caliper( Vernier, dial, or electronic). Don't forget the barrel groove diameter.
