Subject: I used to think I was just a regular guy
N.B: I did not write this and just received it from a friend this morning. However; I will state that it applies to me and I totally agree with it. How many of you are willing to man up and say the same? Jim I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a racist. I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by todays standards, makes me a fascist. I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe. I am non-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class and an ally of big business. I am a Christian, which now labels me as an infidel. I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which now makes me a member of the vast gun lobby. I am older than 70 and retired, which makes me a useless old man. I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me, which must make me a reactionary. I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes me a xenophobe. I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist. I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist. I (and most of the folks I know), acquired a fair education without student loans (its called work) and no debt at graduation, which makes me some kind of an odd underachiever. I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland for and by all citizens, which now makes me a militant. Please help me come to terms with the new me because Im just not sure who I am anymore! I would like to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, new found changes in my life and my thinking! I just cant imagine or understand whats happened to me so quickly
Funnyits all just taken place over the last 7 or 8 years! As if all this wasnt enough to deal with.......Im now afraid to go into either restroom!

According to The Fringe, if you don't agree with all of it you're not a man!

Flawed and complicated as everyone, mc. Learned long ago one size doesn't fit all. Where's thinking where everyone agrees? Not on this planet.
Aligning behaviour with how we act in real life---with courtesy in social discourse on any issue---is how mature people separate bullies from society.
Free and fair-minded people don't approve of fringes dominating the conversation. Vitriol never improved quality of life.

I know I am- I have a bowl of Kellogg's raisin bran cereal for breakfast every morning- 4 cups of hot black coffee and wheat raisin toast with Jif peanut butter- works like a charm. Just like Scatman Crothers said to Danny Torrance in the movie "The Shining"-- "You got to stay regular if you want to be happy!"

well: I'm in my 80s served my country have 11 wounds a fractured back head injuries and a left hand that doesn't work to well all in the name of patriotism and love of country and god. it at times makes me wonder if it was all worth it but then again if not me and patriots who? I have no regrets or bitter outlook and hold my head high to know I held my parents beliefs closer to my heart than the influence of a two bit pol.

Well, it isn't exactly p.c., but I appreciate you and your service, pod. And everyone else who sacrificed of their time, health, talents and lives to preserve freedom. Thank you, very much. Good post, Jim. SRH
May God bless America and those who defend her.

Free and fair-minded people don't approve of fringes dominating the conversation. Vitriol never improved quality of life. If we're all so different, what's the big worry to make us all the same. I'm going to have to look up that word, vitriol, and go back through Jim's comment and see if I can find some. I think what's troubling you is that Jim brought up many things that aren't so easy to categorize, but that isn't true. Some would say those things can all be lumped together, in a basket so to speak. Are you familiar with the deplorables?

JI seem to remember a certain king who considered the vast majority of us deplorable. Deplorable enough to hang, draw, and quarter. 1777 was supposed to be "The Year of the Hangman."
Now THAT'S deplorable!

As usual Brown has it wrong as there is no "vitriol" but a refutation of all the unfounded "charges" made against us by the socialists in the declaration I admittedly just copied over here. We responsible Americans, which Brown isn't and wouldn't be even if he lived here, doesn't like is these are the beliefs that have been held by the majority of mainstream Americans and still are although the Libtard press tried to hide this in every way possible. I see the pendulum swinging back from the left and I believe it will continue and we all will see Trump with a resurgence of patriotism make American great again after 8 sorry years of debasement from the Kenyan socialist.
And again I would ask you NOT to quote Brown in my threads. I have this loser on my ignore list and really don't care to see what he posts. Jim
