Has anyone here ever tested these buffered .410 loads, or seen any pattern test data on them?

No but I have shot the 28 gauge loads and they were dynamite on blue quail. Worth a look.

I am also from Georgia, and, since they are but a short drive from me, I decided years back to try their loads in some of my vintage German guns, including several pre WWI and a few pre 1900 guns, both 12 and 16 bore. In short, I absolutely love their Vintager loads. Now to be sure, that's not what you asked about, but I would say, based on my use of that one product line, the one you ask about is likely to be a well designed and performing load. If it fits your intended use, I would certainly give it a try. They are friendly people, and have demonstrated they know what they are doing in their other product lines.

I have talked with Jay, the owner, previously about some of his other loads, and have bought the 2 1/2", 7/8 oz. loads from him by the flat. Never tried the buffered .410s, though. I may call him and see if he will sell me less than a flat, to try. It just seems to me if there is any load that would benefit from buffering, it is the 3" .410. 17 grams is only a bit more than 9/16 oz., but if it patterns a lot better, it could put more shot on the bird than a 11/16 oz. unbuffered load.

Thanks, SRH

Stan, Greg Hartman posts over on UJ. He has used them extensively in the field, has high regard for them. Don't remember whether he put them to paper. You could ask over there, or send him a PM.

I bought a flat of the 2.5" Gram-Crak'r Polywad #6 shells to use in my Marlin Fourtenner a couple of years ago. They kill squirrels up in the tops of the big pines...Geo
