Samuel Johnson working on barrels. Samuel was one of nine children and the son of Thomas Johnson. It is believed that Thomas moved to London to join Holland and Holland in about 1893, possibly having been recruited by Thomas Woodward the manager of Hollands new factory in London. Samuel was born in 1883 and also worked for Holland and Holland until he had to go to the dentist to have a tooth removed (the dentist broke his jaw) and he was fired for taking time off work! Samuel then returned to Birmingham's gun quarter to establish his own business on Vesey Street.
A Norman Johnson miniature gun next to a Thomas Johnson 12 bore bar in wood left handed hammer gun.
One of the miniatures in my hand with a fifty pence piece next to it.
