I had negotiated a price and put my cash on the barrel head.
What does any of John Boyds whining or Flintfans stupid ideas
about how to run a business have to do with what happened to me? You had handed over cash, and the seller refused to give you the gun? That is theft of a firearm, a felony. I hope you called the police. Are you retarded?

I'm not the one who was duped by some low life. If only the seller had sent you some sort of documentation that he would charge you as soon as your offer had been accepted. And in turn you had documentation that he had accepted your offer. That does sound kind of far fetched and stupid though. Better luck next time, hope you learned something. Sounds like you have everything under control though, and don't need anyone's advice.

I think it is plainly obvious from the original post that this was a face-to-face deal between acquaintances that broke down at the point of sale because the seller didn't honor his commitment. No money changed hands and the damage was to the seller's honor. No felonies were committed other than the seller's self-inflicted wound to his word and honor.

It would appear we're getting a little bit of insight into why the deal fell apart. It would be nice to hear the other party's version of events, in light of this recent melt-down.
