Trying to figure out a fair price for sale between friends.
I am selling my 20 ga Beretta 686 Onyx 28in Barrels Mobilchoke with six tubes, ejectors, single trigger, straight hand stock (like Orvis Upland Special, but a gun originally sold in England. Condition is 95% plus, two scratches on wood, metal near 100%, never really used and still has the new tight feel when opening. Maybe six boxes of shells through it in 15 years, if that.
I don't want to gouge him, but I don't want to give it away either.

Looks to me like most of these guns sell for $1,500 to $1,750 on GunBroker. They are popular for having the single trigger converted to double...Geo

A 20g Black Onyx sold on another site recently. Offered at $1400 I believe, so that or less. I wish I had bought it. I'm looking for one to do a Cole's upgrade on.

Seems like the question is about friendship, and neither side wants to be over friendly. I think let it go for a friendly price, or just say you decided to keep it.

If it's a Black Onyx 20 with the matte finish, those are in high demand with 28" barrels. If it has the high polish blued frame, then less demand. If it's some Onyx other than Black, even less demand (because they are more plentiful and not as attractive). Straight grip for the English market may mean nicer than typical Beretta fence post wood. If nice wood and matte blue, I'd say $1500. If plain wood and polished blue or coin frame, probably $1000. If your friend does not want it, I have a friend who has been looking for one. I'd be looking if I didn't already have two of them. Great guns.

I would have gladly given you $2000 for it about five weeks ago. I have looked long and hard for such a gun to have Cole put double triggers on it for "the perfect" dove gun. Finally gave in and bought the Black Onyx Pro from Cabala's with the upgraded wood and had them ship it straight to Cole for double trigger conversion. I now have my double trigger Black Onyx Beretta with nice wood and pistol grip and 30" barrels. Would much rather have straight grip, 20" barrels and $1000 in my pocket.

You wanted 20" barrels for a dove gun?

Typo, sorry. 28" barrels, the ones on the gun in question.

If you are planning to have Cole's put double triggers on any Beretta I'd recommend checking with them ASAP. Last time I spoke with them they said they haven't been able to get the parts required for the conversion for sometime. That was a few months ago.
