So with all of the positive things I've read about the Cabelas Dickinson/S&W Gold Elite/SLB Akus guns, I've not seen any pictures of the inside of the action. Has anyone pulled the stock or dropped the trigger plate on these guys and photographed the guts?

LH, I had Mark Beasland do it on a Dickinson. He thought it looked pretty good. My concern, however, was adjusting the trigger if you get one with a heavy pull (although they seem to be doing better in that area). Mark said he wouldn't be comfortable making the triggers much lighter than they're set.

Wasn't it Steven Dodd Hughes that showed the innards of a S & W Gold Elite in one of his articles in Shooting Sportsman Magazine a couple of years ago? In that article he compared it to another trigger plate gun (also shown) costing thousands more and as I recall, his assessment is that the the S & W compared favorably.

One of our board members, PA24, has two Dickinsons and has looked inside them. He told me he was very impressed with the finish work on the innards. Check out post #302060 for pics he took of some of the internals. Title of the thread is "New Dickinson Side by Side".
My Dickinson has wonderful triggers.

Thanks, Stan! He posted a picture of the exploded diagram in his manual, which showed me what I wanted to know.

SRH What is the best way to find the post that is referenced? Googling the thread number with "Dickinson" is how I found it. The forum's search feature didn't bring it up. Here's the thread, not sure which page the schematic is on... http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=302060
