Referencing GLS
I hate to highjack this thread a little, but how many of you know that the chanson, "Frere Jacques," is a French monastic diddy?

Gil,
It might work on the huge droves of redwinged blackbirds that come through down here during fall and winter. You oughta try it out. Some reloaded 9s in a .410 would make for some cheap shooting.

A Mojo Dove is a lot less trouble than sitting there pulling strings. I am assuming the little mirrors give the same effect as the white on a spinning wing deke, right?

Grandchildren Stan, grandchildren. They will pull the strings and you shoot the doves. Perfect!...Geo
P.S.: Make'em wear ear plugs.

I've tried a lot of different decoying techniques on dove, spray painted 1.5 litre plastic soft drink bottles with auto primer and scattered them in field openings, carved tupelo gun butt blocks into decoys for dummy powerlines, mojos, but never a lark mirror. Dunno if it'd work or not, but why not? Maybe as Stan suggested, the flashing mirrors might simulate wing flash. Grandkids? Now I can see Eli in a dove suit a la the San Diego Chicken, but I would probably get a visit from Dept. of Family & Children Services....

The French were big on small bird whistles. Each is different. I have a few . One is for larks, and maybe three or four others for birds we usually don't think of as game birds, here.
