I hunted geese with a guy that cut off 12 or 14" off of a model 12 barrel, and made his own extended barrel. He honed out the choke he wanted for hevi shot at 50 yards+ . It really worked for him, but it did look like he was swinging a rake handle at them. Out there doing it best I can.
