just bought this 16ga Jos Zeller anybody know about them? Has 22cal,insert,horn trigger guard,9.3 by 72r Was stored in cosmoline.excellent condition

I'm not familiar with Jos Zeller, unfortunately. There are those who will be and hopefully will be along soon to answer your question. A good set of pictures of all proofs and of the drilling in total will be a great help in making any determinations. I would suspect the trigger guard is probably horn rather than bone...but I am frequently wrong. The 9.3 X 74R is a fine cartridge and with the einstecklauf, (insert), I think you have as near a perfect combination as can be had.

I don't know much on Joseph Zeller other than the 9x57 98 Mauser sporter made in 1920 that I have that bears his name & other fine sporting guns I have seen with his name on them from about the same time period. Maybe Raimey or Axel will come along & fill us in? Pic's added looks to be made 12/1920 #302 through the Zella proof house.
