Will do on the books and thanks for the advice. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who partake in such activities, a fine day to those that don't.

AZ, please post up the results of your black and paper patch work. Reloading for semi-auto handguns and paper patching are two things I have thus far refused to do. I have tried several different black and grease groove bullet combinations in mine and have yet to get it to regulate. I have suspected for a long time that with the Henry rifling the answer was to PP the bullets but would not bring myself to do it. Having a fine Nitro for Black load using a 380 gr. bullet instead of the 440 gr. normally recommended I just used it....but black would be my first choice.

Will do. I get the handgun thing though I do reload my 45LC's (black). PP really isn't that hard once you know what you're doing. While the rifle is currently regulated with a less than ideal load, I'm going 'back to black' if you will for several reasons. One being case capacity and charge ignition reliability. Second, I find BP much easier to clean than smokeless. Three, I am concerned about potential for leading in the Henry rifling with non-patched bullets. I've had great luck with my 45-90 and PP, don't expect major issues with this one. I'll keep you all posted of course.

I'd certainly appreciate estimate of value once I get the pics up.

Hello, I'm new to the group and tried to send you a PM regarding any pet loads for a Reilly .500 B.P.E. I just recently acquired one and haven't fired it yet; bought a single box of the new Kynoch nitro-for-black loads, which are (at least for me) cost prohibitive to shoot. I've got "Wright's" book, empty cases, 440 gr Woodleighs, Kynoch foam wads ; just looking for a good start point with a Reilly, as Wright mentions nothing about them. I am very impressed with the apparent workmanship, but I wished it had the regulated load stamped somewhere, or did this just come about in the nitro era? Anyway, any load data you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards, Bill
