And this fine example solves something for me as I've seen many Suhl examples wearing date stamps with ledger numbers from September 1923 till say March-April 1924 that Suhl did indeed employ a ledger number system. So for all those naysayers, hold your hand high & be counted as I dare, actually double dog dare you, to find say 1/2 dozen Suhl examples from September 1923 till March 1924 that does not wear a ledger number and prove otherwise. I wait cocked & loaded.

What about an image of the frame divorced from the tubeset? If it isn't refinished, it looks like a gem.

It actually looks untouched I haven't weighed it yet. It is on a small frame. I bought a nice german rifle also. I will post it to find out more. Thanks again for all the input

I assume it wears Witten Tube Steel? I wonder why someone incorrectly applied a turnscrew to a few of the screws?
