no need for an apology, I just wanted to set the record straight. I have owned a few T Woodward spiral spring guns. One of which was the only one I have ever seen that appeared to be a boxlock from the outside. Neat guns and varied in quality from pretty good to pretty darn good. I have never seen a true best from him but I did own a wonderfully engraved gun with 2 sets of barrels, which was missing a third set. A nice piece of kit in its day for sure.

Markus 10b. There is someone writing a book currently on Rosson. Charles Rosson was at Derby and bought a shop in Norwich which his elder son Charles Stanley Rosson ran. So you will find guns marked Derby or Norwich and some for a short period maked Derby and at Nrwich on the top rib. If you have C.Rossons then they will be from Derby; gun from Norwich will be marked C.S.Rosson. Lagopus.....

T. Woodward was the first factory manager for Holland & Holland. He was certainly a talented and well respected Birmingham gunmaker in his day.
