vatrapperman,
The barrels were made of Krupp fluid steel, but from your description there is no way to determine the caliber. Furthermore, unless it has an importers stamp, there is no way to determine how or when it came into the US.On the other hand the most likely would be either by a returning WWII vet or a returning post war vet(from the late 40s til recently). It is possible the calibers can be determined if you post clear photos of all the markings, especially on the bottom of the barrels. Even with clear photos, it may still be necessary to make a chamber cast and "slug" the barrel to determine the rifle caliber. Shotgun caliber is usually not difficult, with photos.Even with good photos, I don't like to put a value on someone else's gun, I've not had in my hands. When you post the photos, I'll try again.
