Can someone give me a clue on current market value? Gun has 28" barrel, vent rib, single trigger, and is like new. Choked full and mod.,made around 1970?. I see where one sold in 2011 for $1795. Thanks, Bill

Wow, $1795 for a 12 ga. I guess, I wonder what my 28 ga. is worth. Your saying Gr. 4, do you mean BL-4? If so, 34th Edition Blue Book states $850.00 in 100% condition. 90% is $700.00.

A like-new GR-4 with 28" bbls is easily a $1500 gun. Single trigger, ejectors, good dimensions, quality workmanship, Beretta name and reliability. They had a really well-designed semi-beavertail that feels nice in the hands.
Most had very average wood, but on a rare occasion one comes along with a bit of figure and color.
Good gun. JR

Last year I picked up a very nice GR4, previous owner had some expensive work done on it, I believe by Briley. Barrels shortened to 26 1/4", Briley thin wall choke tubes installed and gun came with 5 of the expensive steel compatible screw in tubes. He had the ejectors disabled but I have since sent the tun to Coles and had them reactivated again. It has a decelerator thin recoil pad. Overall, allowing for the mods, the gun is 99%.
I am assuming the previous owner was an upland bird hunter based on the modes down to the gun but that is just speculation..
Anyhow I am looking forward to the coming fall to do some grouse hunting, missed out using it last year due to some health issues but not this year.....

Billgrill I sold a gun just as described except NIB unfired for $2300.It was a very nice gun.
The best hunting is between now and dark.

Fair price for 12ga wold be $1200 to $1300 with about 20% premium for 20ga. It's older sxs with fixed chokes and mediocre handling qualities. Last year I have seen ejector-less with blackened receiver (GR2) Charles Daly 16ga version in new shape go for $950. Slightly higher price was warranted because 16ga sxs Berettas are uncommon.
