For several years I've been hoping to make it again to The Southern and set up a 'Damascus Reading' table, possibly adding bore and wall thickness measurements. Unfortunately, the dates always overlap a Guatemala mission trip for which I'm either preparing or from which recovering sick http://www.picturetrail.com/photos/gracemedicalmissions

Steve Culver, who many of us are aware has successfully fabricated a short 2 iron crolle shotgun barrel, will be in Las Vegas at the Invitational Knife Makers show, and I would love to talk pattern welding with him, and many of you.
I can't justify paying for a table (and the show is sold out) since nothing I know has any commercial application frown but possibly a dealer could give me 3' feet of table where I could set up and provide an opinion (for free) as to damascus pattern identification. In return, I could bring my Bill Henry wall thickness gauge and measure a few (it is hard work and takes about an hour done right) barrels for the dealer.
Hard to take 4 days off during Paradise Season and the short Mearns season in SE AZ however smile

SO if someone with a table would be kind enough to be my host please send a PM or email me at revdoc2@cox.net and thanks!

Drew, at least that's better than a 2013 Calendar.

People are still looking for 2013 and 2012 L C Smith Calendars. It has come to my attention that Mark of Mark's Born Again Birdguns might have a few of the 2012 and 2013 L C Smith Calendars available at his shop still.

Reverend Drew, we sure miss you at the Southern Side by Side. It's been a while. How about the Fall Southern Side by Side, run by some of the same heathens, a little later in the year?

Sorry, won't be in Vegas to utilize your services/support your endeavor. However, a bore examination and wall thickness measurements will be completed soon. Thank you for the availability of your findings. The following is my first Damascus tubed gun. I believe 3 Iron Crolle or number 9 above.

Shoot straight,

Bird

If you could post a close up image of the pattern I could confirm.
