My brother has a heavy 8 bore double rifle. A friend of mine also has an 8 bore. I have a 10 bore rifle. On all three of the rifles the sights are not in alignment with the center of the rib. The heavy 8 bore (brass case) and my 10 bore have the rear sight to the left of the center line of the rib. The other 8 bore has the front sight offset to the right. The offset is about 90 thousandths on my 10 bore. It is very noticeable on each rifle. (more so on the 8 bore brass case rifle with 22" barrels). The rifles have lines scribed on the sights and rib to check alignment and on all of them the scribes line up. Is this misalignment done to offset the heavy recoil of these rifles?

The brass case 8 bore weighs about 16.5 lbs with 22"
barrels. My friend shot his 8 bore yesterday and he did not say that there was a problem with the accuracy.
