I have never had so much trouble finding information on a firearm, particularly one made by a company that is still in business. Emails to the company have gone unanswered and the internet has been generally useless.

General description:

Ludwig Borovnik - Ferlach
Appears unfired, or nearly so.

Boxlock Ejector

Flaigs Import -- I have come across many of their rifles here in PA, but this is the only DR I have seen with their name on it. Most have been Mauser 98's of one type or another.

Swarovski Habicht 3-9x36

Ejectors work well and are timed nicely with snap caps. Caps land six feet behind the shooter and 3-4" apart.

I am planning to shoot this rifle to check regulation. Suggested bullet weight?

I have a similar Josef Winkler in 300 H&H. The regulation target from Ferlach shows a 180 grain bullet.

Proofed in 1972, which was likely also the production year.
While Borovnik double rifles from this period are not rare, the strong Kersten bolting ("double Greener") of this one is quite uncommon, for a SxS.
I wrote about my Borovnik DR to the makers a couple of years ago and my e-mail remained unanswered as well.

Full pipe side-frame reinforcement and ejectors to boot. Yes the twin Kersten is unique and pairs well with the Boehler Rasant which is a Chromium-Molybdenum steel I think with vanadium and possibly nitrogen. 40 is Borovnik's maker issued number. Are the triggers single sets?

As for valuation, a very similar Borovnik DR (SN 40.3468; cal. 458 Win Mag) was recently estimated at $10-15K by Julia's.
