Next cut em up. About 1/4 in or smaller. Doesn't seem to matter much. If too long they tend to squish out the bottom. If you get em way short they might fall out.

Seat as usual. There now my secret on finding cheap primers is out. Lucky for me most of you seem to be on the East coast and I'll be able to keep buying these up at $1 a box out here on the Western side of the US. Plus you get the added benefit of irritating the hull scroungers at your gun club when they try to reload the hulls you tossed with the sleeves. Clogs up a MEC 9000 jiffy quick in a hurry.

Thanks, that is pretty neat idea. The 57 primers show up from time to time, usually cheap. A lttle effort involved but could be worth it especially in this time of component shortages.

They'd look just sporty in a blue Peters shell.

Kinda like red line Tiger Paws on a Montero Red '65 GTO.

Gee!

You guys wasting #57 primers on newly manufactured hulls!

I had to search and search to locate a few thousand #57 primers for new old stock hulls with that size primer pockets! If fact I could use another thousand of two and will trade #209's one for one for those #57!

Mark it is a very simple procedure to use 209 size primers in Remington hulls designed for 57 size primers.

First deprime the Remington 57 size hull.

Put a spent 209 primer in the priming station and seat the spent primer in the 57 size hull. It will take just slightly more effort to seat but it will pop right in.

Deprime the hull removing the spent 209 primer and you can seat and use a 209 size primer for the life of the hull.

I wish that I had a nickel for every time I did that back in the old days. I don't have any more 57 size hulls and haven't seen any in many a year.
