R_W,
A Beretta schnabel is available. I'd snatch that gun up in a heartbeat if I was looking for what you mentioned. It's a bargain IMO. Rich Cole will sell you a schnabel. My opinion is that custom Beretta is a something I'd be happy with if my criteria and budget was what you posted.

Re: CG's...I looked at the quality and they just don't match the Beretta. Some will disagree with me, but that's my opinion.

you are correct, that Browning is close. The superlight feather I have in 28g (26") is the reason I know I want 28 inch barrels. As for the Merk, I've always felt they swing like tanks. May be I need to check them out again.

Thanks for the help.

I've given some thought over the years to buying one of those butt ugly New Style Skeet Supers in Pigeon Grade and having it converted to a straight stock and schnable forend and do something with the chokes (screw-ins?). The New Style Skeet guns seem to be a stagnant market. Nobody seems to like that 2x4 of a forend, therefore the prices seem a little soft.

I would think that the browning superlight B2G COULD have 28 inch barrels fitted and Art's could do it.

Get a Rizzini. Well priced. Attractive. Reliable. And included a 3 year warranty. Below are a few models that might interest you. The last 2 are their rounded models. The prices shown are retail so you should be able to get them for a bit less.

Artemis - $3895

Artemis Light - $3995

Round Body - $4195

Round Body EL - $6495

I bought one of the B. Rizzini premium grades in 20ga with a schnable forend which list for about $15,000 but didn't have to pay that. It is really a nice gun and polished inside & out with hand cut engraving. I think the premiums are a really strong value. I think you can order them with double triggers if you prefer. I shoot mine for clays mostly as I have a 20ga Parker VHE for the field which has been with me for 30 years and we think alike.

Don't think you'll find a Kraut OU with a schnabel--even though that's a nice German word. B. Rizzini, maybe top end of the I. Rizzini (FAIR). I don't know if they do DT's on the B Riz guns. They do (or did) on FAIRs, but SST was standard. I had a 900, think it was an LX version, in 16ga. Special order with DT's, straight, solid rib. Those features were all available, but the standard versions were all SST, round knob, vent rib.
