The forth wettest May since records began (1840s I think) and the wettest June ever recorded. So far, I have not seen a single day this July when it did not rain. Not motorcycling weather, that's for sure!

I understand, from someone formally connected with Belvoir, that the main problem is that they held and annual event there which was a Land Rover ralley. This churned up what was going to be the car parking area. It was a couple of Month's ago and they anticpated that all would be back in order for the Game Fair but the unprecedented amount of rain sort of snookered those plans.

It's also spoiling my trout fishing too. Lagopus.....

I was just being thoughtfull for the folks not to waste money flying over, I used to see many yanks buying hammer guns at this show in bygone years.

By the way thanks Raimey for posting the heads up.

In all seriousness, I love Bavaria; I've spent a lot of time there: Munich, Garmisch, Heidelberg and environs.

I spent a couple of weeks in Detroit one day; never going back.

While I live in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey, in my exurban neck of the woods, "stranger crime" is basically unheard of.

Then sorry for that I apologise for my hasty reply as I seem to be having a bad weekend. I just found out I am being cut out of the loop for taking on my local hunt "revier" I have been waiting 10 years for it so am sort of pi**ed off.
Tomorrow will be better.

Martin

Mike, I hunt in the UK and states but I moved to germany in 2002 my wife is German. I got into the local revier which is 1600 acres around my village as a guest I just helped with building high seats and such, cost me no money, but you are always second fiddle, now one of the 3 lesees is retireing & I thought I would get first refusal but the other two lesees want to expand their holdings. So I appear to have lucked out. But I feel better today, I will come with my old landrover and do a six month tour of USA & Canada maybe next April when I retire instead. We have roe deer fox and wild boar here. The boar are almost out of control as from 11.7 million hectares agro land in Germany 2.8 million is turned over to energy corn for biomass and the boar are loving it equals lots of damage to crops. Regards Martin

Martin,

What, exactly, does "revier" mean?

BTW, re boars, is there truth in what I have read that boar in Germany (and, presumably, eastern Europe also)have a radioactivity issue because of Chernoble?
