Benjamin Wild, late 20th century, possibly into this century.

I've seen a nice "name" gun that had new barrels made for it by Benjamin Wild.

Would anyone out there possibly be familiar with this guy's work?

I told you it was a long shot.

hello,
i have used benjamin wild on numerous occasions.i deal through colin wild who is always honest and helpful.
i have always been happy with the outcome.they are a well established firm within the trade and i havent any bad reports re work or service.
they have a website, albeit basic, and i am sure colin would be happy to speak on phone re any queries.
cheers

THREE recommendations from the UK? I'd say that's as close to perfect as one could ask for.

Many Thanks, guys, or maybe not......Now I don't have any excuses, I just might have to pony up the money to buy the gun!

B. Wild guns show in auction on occasion and fetch Brand Value level 3 prices; depending on Original Quality grade and Current Condition level for the rest of the price.

Colin is a good friend of ours he will help you out with anything he can. Colin's father may have made those barrels. One of Colin's sisters works in the company with him and the other sister married Nick Makison who now lives and works in the gun business in Canada. So they have all kept gun making in the family.

Thank you for the added information and contact invitation, Mr Foster.

My interest in the Wild shop is at this time purely limited to the quality of work representative of that firm. There is a Grant gun that caught my interest recently which has replacement barrels from Benjamin Wild.

Your post, combined with the others, gives me some assurance that the barrels were made to a high standard.

Now, whether or not the current state of my wallet is up to the same standard is still being researched.

Many Thanks to all.

with any gun that has been re-barreled you should check that it is firing in the centre of the primers. Take two empty primed cases and fire them in the gun. Check that the pins are striking in the centre of the primers. When a new gun is made the striker holes are drilled after the barrels are fitted. When a gun is re-barreled it is some times difficult to get the new barrels in the centre of the pin holes.
I hope this helps.
