I have just got back from Tony's Service. It really was a celebration of his life, he was a great man. It was a measure of Tony's caring and thinking that months before he died he wrote a poem thanking everyone near and dear to him for just coming into his life which was read for the first time today. He even had the goodness of heart to thank all his many friends that he made through Double Gunshop. Marie carried on this theme by asking me to give special thanks to special people, All of YOU. She smiled in appreciation of the fine words that have been sent and asked me to send her love to KY Jon & LGF. The Flowers from Doug & Vic were wonderful, marvellous, beautiful. Finally there can be no better tribute to a Great man who only took up Gunsmithing two years ago than to see representatives from Birmingham Proof House and Craftsmen from The Birmingham Gun Quarter at his service. Ladies & Gentlemen, Thank you all so very much. As engraver Phil Duffill and our own David Trevallion said, 'He's one of us'
Tony, you may be gone in the flesh but your spirit will forever live on, and every day I shoot you will be with me. Love till the next time. Pete, ( Salopian)

Pete;
Thank you for representing us at Tony's celebration of life.
Each day as I read post here I think that the board is just not the same without him.
Regards; Bv

This Board is still the same, it's what brought Tony here. We all need to thank Dave Weber for making it possible for Tony to find us. Thank you everyone, Tony hasn't really gone, he's still with us inspiring us to be better men and giving us the drive to save more fine examples of craftsmanship for posterity. Now come on everyone smile and let's get back to the bench.

salopian I wish to thank you for for letting those of us who could not attend to know that Tony was well remembered. Should you have the chance to pass on my deepest sympathy and love to Marie please do so. Like many here, I kept Tony in my thoughts and prayers and will do so I hope for as long as I draw a breath. He was in my thoughts today and hopefully will be many more times in the future. He was very special.
There have been a handful of men here, on this board, that are in a class that we all should strive for. Sharing information freely when asked, sharing encouragement or advise offering to help or even asking if they could help. Of the 10,478 members .01% make this board, or made this board while alive, a very special place. I miss Tony, I miss Bill Wise, I miss Klunkmeisterm, I miss...... Good people all. God Bless. I think that I will take a few weeks off. So to all of you take care, Jon Farrow...KYJon

Salopian,
Thank you for sharing the ceremony with us. Tony was a man among men and a gifted craftsman willing to share his knowledge and lessons. He will be truly missed.

Gents I had the honour to carry Tony's coffin at the cremation service yesterday.Then as mentioned earlier the service of celebration in Kings Sutton was a great tribute to TT ending with a reading of a letter and a poem written by himself and then an instrumental version of "always look on the bright side of life". I left the church with a tear and a smile. Once back at Tony's home the stories and celebration went on into the night, just as he would have wanted it. There were many family, friends and colleagues there and I think he would have approved. Today is a strange day, the reality has hit home now.

An incredibly sad post and I raised an imaginary glass to Tony yesterday around noon. My thoughts are with his family and thanks to those of you who posted on here about how things went yesterday. If anyone wants to hear Tony's inspirational radio diary, this really makes you appreciate how focused he was on his family and their future. http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/victoriad#playepisode2
