If you have a straight grip stock bent up 5/8 inch for less drop at heel will this cause the bottom line of the grip to look bowed? Thanks in advance .Bobby

I divided .625 by 12 inches (guess of butt stock length to wrist) and came up with.052. Can you see that much in the distance we are talking about?

There's an option, but it's more expensive. Have the tangs bent and the head re-inletted I've not had this done, but maybe some stockmakers like Mr Travallian can tell us about it.

Chuck, I have heard that Les Pittman and Freddy Bruner do this kind of work.

I think a $20 slip on comb raiser pad like the one RST sells is a better option.

I would imagine it woud destroy the correct lines and bending tangs up would be expensive.I can make a new stock but a lot of work for an old man! Thanks,Bobby

This looks cleaner, is cheaper, and is easier to take on/off:

5/8 is a lot to bend up, in my opinion. Yes, you would notice the change in bottom line. If you would be willing to refinish the stock you could, after bending, rasp and sand the bottom of the stock to remove the "belly" and refinish the stck. It isn't difficult, it just takes some time. This would be less expensive than re-inletting
