I watched PawnStars this week and a guy came in to sell a Wells Fargo sxs hammer gun. The guy said it was worth 15K. The pawn shop offered him 3K for it.
Did Wells Fargo actually make shotguns or did they just sell someone elses gun under their name?
It was a very plain gun. Im surprised they offered him 3K for it.

I have seen a few hammer guns by various makers with the stamp WFC on them. Wells Fargo, I belive stamped or had stamped their name on their guns but did not make them.

They bought guns from Ithaca and were marked WFCo. Ex. and often with a sequence number.

This gun did not look like an Ithaca to me. Bobby

There are lots of Wells Fargo fakes out there in many makes of guns. It would surprise me if Wells Fargo used double barrel shotguns much in 1915 when the Flues came out. This is just from feeling, not from knowing anything. I think there are books out there on Wells Fargo items.

I saw the show too and it was a hammer gun with an underlever type opening gizmo (sorry I don't know what that's called since I'm mainly a Fox guy). They mentioned the name which was an English make but it escapes me right now. I was a little concerned when at the end they asked the gent who wanted to sell it, to shoot the gun to see if it was safe. Pawn Star Rick kept pointing to some deep pitting on the outside of one barrel. They went out to a range and the gent shot it using red-colored shells which looked like Winchesters to me. Now, possibly they were that Featherlight load that's sold in AA cases, but the narrator didn't mention anything about that, or if he did I missed it. Nice TV entertainment flick but I wouldn't be shooting red colored WW high pressure shells in that gun in that scenario. Yeah I was surpised too that the script had a 3K offer in it. All this is just my take FWIW. Silvers

It was a back action lock, hammer gun with a Jones underlever, looked like an Birmingham built gun. Beautiful gun but they couldn't decide on a price.

It was a Manton. If you are able to see it again, it was on the rib. Now I am 2nd guessing myself, was it on the lock? Anyhow, I looked hard for it as I had seen this show before and I was watching closely for it.

Believe the gun was a Manton hammer. Surprised Cash Money Rick didn't have his gun buddy expert check the gun. Maybe he was out looking at another Gatling gun.
