I only wish it was possible to get the history of my W C Scott SLE. I'd gladly shell out $95 for it.

Patrickwall, Kensal is right, it would be a good $95 investment, ask them to post you a copy of the ledger entry. I know someone there if you want me to try and get it done "on the cheap" smile best, Mike

Patrick, the way I see it there are a lot of good points being made here. I mean we're not talking about a Stevens 311 here were talking about one of the most prestigious firms in the entire world when you're talking about Westley Richards.

And I agree Mike, I would stop looking after buying a Westley Richards. I would figure I had the best there is so why keep looking.

Indeed and Lord Alfred Douglas was Oscar Wilde's lover. Wilde wrote about him and ended up in prison because of him. That was when he wrote the 'Ode to Reading Gaol'

Back on topic, I always thought that scalloping on the back of box locks indicated best, or certainly better, grade, due to the intricate nature of the metal to wood fit there.

Gents,

I greatly appreciate all of the feedback and will follow your given guidance to get the company history of the gun and get a wall thickness gauge. With regards to stating that it's not a Best gun, that was an assumption I made. It may indeed be a Best gun. I will post some more pics that I took today.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,
Patrick

Here are some more photos that give a better picture of the full gun.

Sincerely,
Patrick
