What is the consistancy of acraglas vs. generic 2-part epoxy? The 2-part epoxy I usually use is about like honey and I would like something thinner. I've had very good results with 2-part epoxy, but I need to insert a threaded rod up into the wrist (up through the gripcap)of a shotgun as a reinforcement and was wondering if acraglas would be the better choice. Thanks.

Regular acraglas is low visc and fairly runny. It dries very hard, much harder than generic multi use epoxy. Brownell's make a stiffer acraglas in gel form for those that need it to stay put while setting.

And a bit of acra-glas thinner will make it as runny as you could want.

You're asking a bit of a difficult question to answer, since 'generic' 2 part epoxies come in all brands and strengths. I recommend you look at some of the manufacturer's sites for technical specs. Since Brownells doesn't really make much if anything, and certainly not epoxies, they are simply repackaging and selling another major maker's product.

For a thin, high strength epoxy, I'd use one of the laminating resins from Aircraft Spruce. Give them a call and discuss what you're doing.
