Can anyone tell me about this gun- quality, value, when made, etc. The one I looked at had ejectors and single trigger, color case hardened side plates and little engraving.

Pictures of the barrel and action flats (all the markings, and action) will tell the tale.
Don.
Life is too short to have a 'hate on' for so many things or people. Isn't it?

I owned a two trigger non-ejector version of this gun about 25 years ago and it gave me excellent service for a few years before it had to be liquidated during one of our wonderful recessions.
I don't have any experience of Zoli ejectors and single triggers, but I have had a number of their field grade shotguns, both SxS and O/U, that were imported by J.L. Galef back in the 1960s and 1970s and always considered them "sleepers"--undervalued solid performers. Still have a 12 guage 3" Silver Hawk SxS (not to be confused with the contemporary Beretta of the same name--Zoli is equal quality but much lower price in my experience).

As to date of manufacture, on one of those you will likely find a Roman numeral among the proofmarks. "I" is 1945. Count forward from there.

Here is the date code marked on the gun: XIX (1963?) There is a drawn bow under the barrel and if I remember correctly it is stamped Delfino on the left of the barrel. Trigger is single, non-selective is there are extractors not ejectors. Side plates still show color case hardening and the stock has some dings, but the checkering is sharp. Barrel is 90% blue with no dents or scratches.
Worth $485?

Hey! If it feels good between the hands, and YOU like it, buy it..If it proves not comfortable , sell it...

I'd buy it. Of course, not without some quibbling and haggling! Start with the lack of ejectors and the non-selective ST....BIG problems--"REALLY slows me down" (NOT). Then the fact that you never heard of this maker--parts CAN'T POSSIBLY be available! Then every little ding and dent that it's gotten over the last 48 years ("Shows signs of abuse--maybe it's got some hidden flaw"???). Maybe you can work the guy down to $400 (Bring 4 Bens).
