The crow shooting video is impressive as well.........watching close, WITH PAUSES, it is quite clear that George Digweed shoots a Pirazzi with "fixed chokes" and no "fatty eraser".................


I'll bet the choke arrangement is really close to FULL and FULL or FULL and MODIFIED...........?........

I read somewhere that his regular SC gun had M/M chokes. But I would think for this exhibition, a XF/XF barrel would have been on his gun.

I have one of his videos and he said he shot F/F and recommended M/M for the "Everyday Joe".

That's my take and drives home a long debated point........the eyesight of the shooter is more important than open choking and 'gadget' arrangements of the gun........eye hand coordination is number one...............something military aviation learned during the First World War............

George Digweed does not distort and diminish his excellent vision with glasses during the crow shoot......and 'glasses' do distort and diminish your vision if you have excellent eyesight......

Mike, I think LD 'your shooting instructor' has touched on this 'gadget' point in one of these threads and I could not agree more........

I think I am a better than average shot.... but I would sure like to see a target as George does .... even if for only 1 day.

What the heck is your point? League Against Cruel Sports? This was a clay target, for gosh sakes! Lighten up, salopian, this is exhibition shooting. Read, entertainment. There doesn't HAVE to be a point. This had absolutely nothing to do with shooting game.

Alright..I hate to admit it, but I cannot see the target being broken at 130 yds. I must have looked at that film 50 times and still can't find when he breaks the bird. All I see is the guy shooting and the crowd clapping. In what part of the sky/trees is the bird when it breaks?

I can't see it broken either. I just assumed that when the crowd cheered, after the shot, that it broke.

If you could center targets at 130 yards, you should break maybe 10 percent of them.

What might pass for a 'pattern' must be very sparse.

Even at 60 yards actual target distance there will be statistical misses with the best trap equipment available.

This is an exercise in chance, like predicting a dice game.

I can see your point, sj, but, if it is valid how did he break every one of the birds approaching the 130 yd. distance with no more than two tries, then broke the 130 yd. bird on the first try. If your 10% idea is right, George is one very lucky man.

I think the 10% figure must be off by a lot.
