What we really need is a recorder to capture Mike yelling at his turd hounds, "RED! WHOA! I really mean it this time! WHOA, DAMNIT!" When Red totally ignores Mike he says "Move on" and starts running after him to repeat the same senario all over again. Oh well, we do cover a lot of country that way. I often just drive alongside and watch where the singles land when they get flushed, step out and shoot 'em. Works like a charm.

Yes, all of his dogs are named Damnit. Being southern reared he retained the tradition of a middle name, such as Damnit Red, Damnit Molly, Damnit Belle (and sometimes Damnit Joe!). Quite charming to hear them called by their full names. Sorta rolls off the tongue natural like. Makes a feller tear up 'n ask fer another mint julep. Reminds me of "Driving Miss Daisy" with hemorroids. Here is a typical picture of the famed Amarillo Mike. Are you guys sure you wanna drive 1000 miles to hunt with his dogs? You think wearing orange is gonna make you safer? Look closely at those eyes......scares hell outta me! And you should'a seen him after he turned his shotgun around and shot that dove! Yuk!

Funny thing Joe, my golden is the most laid back, mild-mannered dog you'll ever see until you get her out on the hunt, then she becomes focused and all business. I'm not saying she's a great bird dog, if she'd had a more determined partner than me she could have been, but because of me she's a meat dog, but she's my meat dog and I've shot a whole lot more birds with her help than without her help. I've felt so bad for her these last few years not being able to get out hunting more, she went from going out at least once or twice a week all season long, to not even getting out once a season and I really feel bad for her. I hope we both have a great time!
