I had to go to Santa Rosa, Ca. to train some street sweeper mechanics. Cali'co Hardwoods is three blocks away from the county garage. Their selection of stock blanks is large. I was in a sensory overload situation. I did buy a blank and might go back tomorrow and get another one. If any of you guys are going to be in the Bay Area I would strongly suggest driving the hour and a half to this wood supplier. If you go talk to Steve in the sales building. Steve is most helpful and lets you look all you want. The priceing is below what I would have expected for the grade of wood I got.

Ya' know, I can't help but think that there ought to be some rule against posting about pretty wood and not attaching any pictures. It seems inhumane.

Gordon, There are numerous blank suppliers up in that area of Calif. Jim Preslik is over in Chico and had some nice English stuff for modest prices.

Like good blanks? Check the Denli site, WOW I have three of his, all very nice, but it looks like the bargain days are over. Used to be much more good stuff in the cheap seats than in the last year. Shipping is dear and I can't get free wire transfers anymore. Gordon email me hanslicharpent@hotmail.com I'm interested in your find, thanks.

I bought two blanks from them many years ago. They use to take an add in Shotgun News and their prices seemed too good to pass up. Both blanks were top notch and the figure was more than expected. Sadly I put one on a 1100 and the other on a Model 12. My oldest son has one and I gave the second to my best friend when I moved out to KY. Fit him better than me and I did not figure that I needed a auto anymore. Two shots and either pickup the bird(s) or wait a little longer.

Here is their website. http://www.calicohardwoods.com/index.php The pricing looks good. Wish they had some selections available on-line. Pete
