If you don't ask you don't get. I'm sure people are free to haggle if they don't agree with the price.

Joe,
They may seem overpriced to you, but you have to look at the quality, condition, no hidden problems and repair or adjustment if you need it.I bought one or two from them and they were
full market,BUT I had the mental assurance that the quality was there and if I wasn't happy, it would be pleasantly returned. That is the slight surcharge of quality.

jOe,

Has anyone at Willoughby McCabe wronged you? Cheated you? If you don't agree with their prices then don't shop there.

However, blatant bashing of a respected dealer just because they are over priced in YOUR opinion is uncalled for and uncouth!

Please. Ask for opinions and you're going to get them.

I agree with Joe. Most of their guns are WAY overpriced. Judging by how long they've been towing some of the same stuff to gun shows, the market agrees.

You can get some deals through their WILL-SELL stuff, but I would have someone like SKB look VERY closely at anything you consider buying from them.

They're gun dealers, not your best friend.

And before anyone asks, I have had dealings with them. My experience supports the statement I made above.

But that's the case with every gun dealer I've ever encountered.

BTW: I forgot to add that my dealing with Patrick have always been excellent and he has always taken the time to talk guns with me at shows.

Patrick is straight, knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with. I've done a number of transactions with him with never a bad one. He also has a VERY nice looking group of helpers.

Now we have several legitimate opinions. There is nothing wrong with a dealer being in business for several years, specializing in the very guns I am interested in collecting, and in that several year period of reading the website and visiting that dealer at shows, I have not seen one item that I would be remotely interested in purchasing at the asking price or even a negotiated lesser price. As I said, there is nothing wrong with that. The world is full of such dealers, some of which are very good friends of mine. Don't assume that Joe is just acting like his old self in making the statement he made. The statement he made is one of many legitimate statements made on this thread concerning this dealer. Some day, Joe and/or I may very well buy a gun from W-M, who can tell?

Here's an interesting example of prices:

A W & C Scott Premier, circa 1890, at W & M. This gun has Teagued bbls and I would say the stock has been converted to a straight grip and refinished:

A W & C Scott Premier, circa 1890, at Osprey Outfitters. The bbls are good & in proof. I'd say the stock has been cleaned up and refinished (I think someone here used to own this gun, actually):
