The thing about doves and crows being classified as migratory birds that is so incongruous is the FACT that most of the ones we shoot are NOT migratory birds. Sure, there are some big old adult, tough, purple necked doves that come down in the late season, and maybe some crows, too. But, the vast majority of the doves and crows that are taken to bag in Georgia each year are birds that are native, hatched and raised right here. I estimate that 90% of the doves bagged in Georgia each year are native.
My guess is that pretty close to the same percentage of Yankees come South every winter as doves.
Guess the Fed should classify humans as migratory animals. Ridiculous.
