Hi all. I'm fairly new to the board (I've been lurking for some time but just joined up about a month ago). I've been shooting a double now for some time and just sprung for a Beesley last month at Wannamaker. Any other Beesley owners/lovers on the board?

I was wondering how I can get more information on the gun. Specifically date of manufacture and original specifications. A previous post mentioned somebody who might have possession of the Beesley records but I haven't been able to track them down. I'm excited to learn as much about my gun as I can and any help provided will be appreciated.

From what I've read, Beesleys are a smart buy. Purdey quality without the Purdey price. Sounds like a sweet purchase.

OK. I've looked at thousands of pictures of guns online and never realized how amazingly difficult it is to take those pictures. I never really got a good one of the engraving on the locks and these are the best I could do for the barrel flats. I love the ferns on the fences.

Here she is with the case and accessories.

Here's the fences.

Here's the best I could get of the engraving.

And here's the best I can do for the flats.

I'll get her back out and post a description of the stamps on the flats tomorrow. I know it is marked Nitro Proofed 1 1/8, has another mark showing an arm holding a sword, a diamond around a crown and a small circle and some others. I'd love to know what each means and will put some more info up tomorrow.

I'll be sending a letter to London soon as well. Thanks.
