Simmons is no longer making new barrels for Parkers or any other guns.

Wow! That venture didn't last long. I always thought that it would be possible to make replacement barrels at a reasonable cost. Guess I was wrong. How did the italians do it back in the 50's and 60's with the Atlas Arms replacement barrels that they made for Parkers?

Speaking of replacement barrels, anyone heard of a barrel set in 16 gauge for a K-32 Krieghoff??
I do have a Cordy/Simmons 16 gauge set for my Superposed. Sure is fun!!!

It's all labor.

I have a set of steel bbls for a Lefever which was made by one of the Bernadelli's in Italy around 1969/70. It was handled by a firm in FL named Knight & Knight if I remember correctly. It stayed gone about three times as long as had been stated up front. I did get a letter of appology from K&K in which they stated the delay was because of changes in Custom laws (In Italy) & that due to these changes in regulations they were discontinuing the service as soon as all those currently in provess were completed. At that time as I recall the price was $135.00 & this was built from scratch preserving the originals. That was of course 40+ years ago. I had actually just bought the gun for a price of $125.00 with a good set of damascus bbls. Had I have been as fully convinced 40yrs ago as now, I would not have bothered,

Looks like we need to look to the Turkish as possible makers of replacement barrels then.

The stigma that third world countries producing metal products have to overcome, at least in my mind, is material integrety. That means specifying and providing evidence of metal composition and heat treat. JMO
If Huglu or their bretheren bought Krupp or U.S. Steel metals or other such respected supplier and showed they have heat treat facilities and personel and other such expertise, I'd have bought one of these guns. My opinion is these guys have to really show the market they are respectable and have to go the extra mile for my biz.

I would say, Don't jump ship so fast fellas, on the US manufacture of replacement or extra barrels for Parkers.
Can't say for sure yet but there've been some whispered rumors.

There must be a market for many hundreds,if not thousands, of barrels if they could hold the price down and the quality up.I know of 4 that need new barrels and the owners would jump at the chance if the barrels could be held down to 1000-1200 dollars fitted.All are D grade guns in 12 guage with seriously bad barrels due to poor storage. They belonged to one guy and he put rags with oil on them in the bores and left them for 40 years. The outsides look great though.

I have a set of beautiful 12 GA. damascus Parker barrels that I'll have at the Southern in April, I have no idea what they are worth but think the Parker group should know. I am not a Parker guy but couldn't pass them up, they are 30" with mod. and full chokes. What would the average price be to fit a set? :Mike
