I can see in Photoshop gauge numbers 28 in circle and 29 on right barrel flat, it was smooth bore barrel. Also I can see I guess HAL on the the same right barrel just before flats. And yea s/n looks like 1365.
But your wrong about ejectors, it's just a line or stratch and not in the center of extractor.

Nice catch Geno as it is/was a cape with a 28 bore, although I don't see the crown/S. Left tube was proofed with a solid projectile.

Kind Regards

There's another Eagle Crown/G higher on the left tube and possibly a HAL between it and the flat.

Kind Regards

Raimey, I can see the HAL on the right barrel. I think the extractor "line" we are seeing between the left and right barrel extractor is the line made by the conversion of the right 28 ga or other gauge shotgun barrel to a rifle. Thus the need to alter the right extractor. The extractor addition is probably silver soldered on. One can see the left to right line on the bottom of the modified extractor piece on Geno's picture where the rifle conversion piece was soldered to the original extractor after milling a place for it. Gun was probably reproofed when the rifle was added to the right barrel. Originally a quite unique gun in itself. But, I could be wrong.

Did anyone see this gun and inspect it?

I hear it went for $6400.

Thanks

I saw it, liked it, could not attend on auction day, so I didn't take it apart to inspect the water table and barrel flats. The condition was very nice, no sign of abuse or neglect. $6400 was a good buy even if the gun could not be provenanced as original. No buyer's premium and no sales tax if a tax license is presented. I don't remember whether I inspected the extractor to see if it was actually split. Now I really want that gun. Never did get a confirmation on the caliber. The tag and the auction listing did not have any further information the day before the auction.
