I traded for a double rifle made by J. Lejeune Fauve Armes Liege.
Sidelock rose and scroll engraving. Sidelock has seven pins and double triggers, with the front articulated. Gold crown on trigger guard, straight grip with checkered butt.
How are these rated on quality versus an english double rifle?
What price range did they sell for. Are they still made? Thanks in advance.

From all my sources, there was never a Fauve listed as a maker in Belgium. There were some merchants by that name in France. I would suggest that you post pictures of the gun, especially the proof marks.

There was, a number of years ago, a good general gunsmith in my city by the name of Claire Lejeune, he is now deceased. He was from Belgium. He was, first, a gentleman, and second, a good gunsmith. I used to frequent his shop, and he always had time to talk. I realize this is of little use, except that the family Lejeune may well have a history of being in gun making in Belgium.
