Well I suppose dumping would depend on what they are selling for. Anyone selling for under 3k?

There is a rumor going around that a master gunsmith is applying their case colors with a torch!

I heard that rumor too. Would that be Master Gunsmith Ed Bates? I know how to use a torch (aka- "blue tip wrench" and "gas axe" for welding/brazing, soldering and heating (with a Rosebud tip) but to tune up the colors on a RBL- huum- as the little German guy with the big coal skuttle helmet on "Laugh-In" used to say-- "Verrrrry Interestung"" Jawohl!!

I don't think there is any dumping going on. CSMC has some fully optioned and engraved guns available at high prices, and I also suspect a lot of guys bought their guns with the intention of selling them later. Well, "later" has arrived but the economy is not conducive to the sale of reasonably pricey guns, so the available inventory is building up slowly.

When you think about it, twenty really isn't that many. But, it could just be the economy. A lot of people have bought things and lost their jobs and have to let things go. If they pass the bill where we have to pay taxes on our guns, you will see a few more for sale. Times are hard. And it will be a long time before it gets better.

I have noticed the number of RBL's as well. And, there are several for sale locally......One of the local owners said, "the romance didnt last"......If the 16's get down to about 500 bucks, I might buy one....

Yeah buying a RBL is kind of like all the guys wanting to date the new girl in town. When they finally did they soon decided that she just wasn't what they had expected and tried to make up with the girl next door that they had dropped for the new hussy and all is well until the next painted up trollop comes along anyway.

Yeah, the 30" 28 gauge RBL is a terrible gun. I expect that those who bought them will be unloading them, probably starting next week. You may notice that many of the 20s offered for sale are Tony's. He is selling them at full retail.

One time I dated the new girl in town and then you should have seen the fuss she made when I tried to stuff her in the back of my gun safe. Damn that painted up hussy-trollop!

Ten years ago, three well known dealers were "dumping" Parker Repros for $1,999 ($2,099 for single trigger guns). I guess the people who bought them (except me) feel pretty good about their investment. This happens with many guns when production ceases. Don't be surprised to see the prices of these guns go up substantially when demand exceeds supply. These are very well made guns. I would take an RBL over a Parker Repro in a heartbeat and for far less money.

Just watched one on a no reserve auction. Standard gun, single trigger, Eng. stock, 14" lop, 2X wood. Not what I would see as the most saleable configuration. It was at $2610. minutes before the closing and final bidding probably took it a little higher. That would be more than it cost new if one got the $300. discount. It did have a nice piece of wood.

It is just a terrible gun. End of story. Thanks, tudurgs, for your comment. Tony sold the last 30" 28 gauge gun that he had in stock at the Fall Southern Side by Side. He won't be making any more. The buyer showed great restraint in turning down ridiculous offers for his gun after he had paid for it. Tony still has a few 28" guns available. Maybe I can score one of those before they are gone.

The haters come out. If Tony offered either the 20 or 28 for 1500, there would be criticism and condemnation. some folks just have to have drama.

Prior to the black culture introducing the term 'haters' about 5 years ago, and using it to describe anyone who doesn't agree with their point of view, the world was a much better place.

Gregsy, in keeping with my intial response I could say word". but I wont. LOL. I agree. I just had to use that vernacular to illustrate my point. The bigger picture is that there are so many who want to run down CSM and Tony. Why????

Brian who on this thread said anything demeaning about Tony Galazan or Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing?
I think Tony is a great entrepreneur. His Fox and Winchester 21s are just plain phenomenal and his new gun looks to be a winner as well. I just don't believe the RBL is all that special and lump them into the class with the higher grade Citori's and mid grade AyA's and Merkels for execution and usability.

I just don't believe the RBL is all that special and lump them into the class with the higher grade Citori's and mid grade AyA's and Merkels for execution and usability. 1. I never said that anyone said anything demeaning. My use of the word "haters" relates to those who find fault in things for no reason other than they dont have one or because soemone else is being critical and they have to join in. 2.My observation, based partially on this thread and several others in the past is that when CSM announces a gun the doubters and critics come out. I see comparisons to torch coloring, dumping on the market and other veiled remarks that paint a less than stellar picture. This has been the norm for some folks here for quite a while. 3. rememebr back when the first RBL wasoffered and the subsequent delays. The critics were like sharks in bloody water. 4. Tony has done more to stimulate the double gun business here in the US than anyone else I know of. I have bought several RBL's form him. I like them and dont see the faults that many talk about. It would be interesting to know how many of the critics actually bought and or had in their handsand used an RBL to which they base their negative opinions on. 5. BTW, my initial response was supposed to be sort of tongue in cheek. so dont get your nickers twisted, okay?

Looking at the on-line offerings I think its fair to say that Mr Galazan has chosen not to dump remaining stocks and move on but has chosen to protect his buyers. For that he deserves our respect, and if your an owner of an RBL , our thanks.
