Has been a long time since I read Roger's article on these guns. I do not recall him recommending them for "Magnum" loads, but do remember him making the statement "You Can't Build a Grouse Gun Yoo Light". He seemed to have nothing but praise for these guns. I do recall that he enjoyed "Playing" with the unusual, but I always enjoyed his articles. Didn't know where he was from, did you know him personally 8-Bore? Judging from his articles I suspect he would have been an interesting person to know.

Ugly or not I've wanted one of those for awhile, I hunt upland and recoil bothers me much less then hauling a heavy gun all day. Actually recoil doesn't bother me at all, at least it hasn't yet. I'd make an offer on it but I'm between jobs right now.

Miller, Roger Barlow lived in the Shenendoah a short drive from me. However, I never met him although I enjoyed his writings about the unusual. He was a man of many interests, cars being one of them. I dug up and reread the Bretton article a while back.

He loved his VW "Thing", as I recall.
Best,
Ted
