In this part of town, that is referred to as a "Barn Gun". Some "Barn Guns" live closer to the manure pile than others. I think the manure pile might be where that one was stored. There really isn't much excuse for a gun to look like that, save ignorance, or, stupidity. Some of my Father's guns were used by him for almost 60 seasons, and would condition in the very high 90% catagory. He took care of them, and serviced them, or their finish, as needed. Best, Ted

Seems this Lefever has been listed and relisted on Gunbroker for some time. In spite of the $1.00 opening bid, no one who placed a "reasonable" bid has met the reserve. This is not a shock. Happens all the time. A dealer selling a beat up gun prices it as if it was in 95% condition, but the same guy trying to buy a gun will run it down and offer you way below wholesale. Nothing new here. I just wish the online gun auctions required a little number on the listing telling how many times the piece has been listed. That way we wouldn't have to waste time clicking on the same overpriced crap put out there, over and over, at high prices by sucker fishermen.
A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

While this gun is just plain worn out, this particular gun dealer was very fair with me on a deal several years ago. I would do business with this company again.
In my circumstance, I was looking for a reliable beater gun to take chukar hunting on a fishing trip wherein it would see horrible treatment. He didn't have anything on the shelf that suited my needs. When I told him I was looking for a reliable pump that I could abuse he brought out a decent Ithaca 37 and sold it to me for easily 1/2 its value. Maybe he has a soft spot for chukar hunters, but he went out of his way to help me by holding the gun so I could shop around. That Ithaca is one of the best gun deals I ever got.

I think they trotted the horses over it.

I like Popplecop's sociological take. Different strokes, indeed.

The seller has almost 2400 feedbacks and has a grand total of two neutral feedbacks, no negative feedbacks. That tells me that he is one seller who must tell it like it is. We may see a well worn gun with 0% condition left. He sees a gun that has been used hard and kept in a state of repair that lets it shoot some more. I bet that his reserve is just a few hundred dollars and I will also bet that if you drop two shells in that gun it will work. And that is more than half the sellers on GB can say or more than a few of the guns for sale can do.

fishnfowler; saying someone has "a soft spot for chukar hunters" is like saying, in the words of a great (big) American, "I pity da foo'". Madmen have always been revered in some cultures.....
Chukar hunters have to simultaneously ignore the laws of gravity, thermodynamics, and ballistics. Is it surprising that their prey comes from the home of fanatics? That its favorite food is cheat grass? And grasshoppers? A thoroughly mad sport.
(I have to admit that I used to love chasing chukars in Asotin County WA and the Whitman County Snake River Breaks....).

There is a reserve on it, like to find out what that is though. I understand what Jim is saying about the ad, but what a great project that could be. Buy it cheap, restock it, clean up those twist barrels and you really have something there. That unknown reserve is troubling though!!!

Great pics but why didn't he at least clean it before the photos? A good light spiff job would have helped his case quite a bit.
