I think, I may be wrong, the rifled barrels are for spreading shot for hunting woodcock in thick cover. I am not sure how they would do with solids since they probably aren't truly regulated. Rifling one barrel is common for this type of application.

I have nearly finished regulation with a 20ga that I'm building on a french 16ga boxlock.
I'm sure that the second gun is always a lot easier
The right barrel is rifled and the left smooth. My thought was that unless using the high performance sabots, it is still only a 100 yard gun regardless of accuracy.

Shooting 3" Brenekes, the rifled barrel will group under 3" at 100 yards, the smooth barrel will do that at 50yd.
The rifled tube is a slow twist 1/70 from Bauska who I believe are no longer in business.
The only change that I would have made would be tubes in the left as it would have improved utility.
